Sara loves Christmastime

Christmastime is pretty magical when you're nearly three.

Sara has loved the new objects and textures and treasures around the house (see these pictures of her with some Nativity sets). She loved the new routines of the advent calendar--sharing the candy, singing songs, reading scriptures, unwrapping books, lighting candles and blowing them out. Her favorite songs this year have been the "sleep song" ("Away in a Manger") and "la-la" ("Deck the Halls"). Her favorite Christmas book, oddly enough, seems to have been The Lump of Coal by Lemony Snicket. Who would have guessed! She enjoyed the sweets and treats--she loves egg nog. Finally, Greg has an egg nog drinking buddy! It was magical to share Christmas with our sweet Sara.

(These pictures were taken over Thanksgiving weekend--the weekend she potty trained, which explains the lack of pants. And also why her underpants are riding up--they're on backwards: "My turn! Me do it!")
