I was so happy to be finished with the summer session of my training! August was such a relief. We squeezed in lots of fun stuff before and around the start of school.
The drive home from Texas:
We spent the night in Bowling Green, Kentucky--so we visited the Corvette museum, made more famous by a recent sink hole.
David with cars that were pulled out of the sink hole. Why is this my only picture of David at the museum? He's the one that loves cars! |
Mary may be less interested than David in cars but she likes to pose! |
We also stopped to visit Abraham Lincoln's birthplace in the beautiful Kentucky countryside.
In August we also said good-bye to the cousins, who moved to Austin. Sniff, sniff. We miss them! It's been so awesome to live near them these past couple of years. Lots of silliness in these pictures:
Back to school!
First day of 3rd grade! |
First day of 4th grade! |
Daddy took the kids to the bus stop on the first day. Hooray! |
Afternoon crew at the bus stop. A happy first day of school! |
A week later Sara had her first day of school! She attends a wonderful little Jewish Montessori school near our home. She is in their toddler program, and she goes every morning. So this was a big change for me--Sara was more ready than I was!
First day of school ever! |
There have been some geocaching adventures this year:
David and Jeff found the cache on a Webelos adventure. |
We live near some great bike trails. There is one near our home that runs along the Little Miami River.
The old Kings Mill. This is where the Kings in Kings Island and Kings Local School District and Kings Mills Elementary comes from. |
P.S. I was having too much fun to post this in August! It was really published in Jan. 2016.
